Never losing one’s temper.
From theft to murder, in the history of humanity, no one has ever committed any crime by losing their temper, but they may have used it to commit one.

Using the word temper to just mean, anger, can be very misleading. In truth, your temper means your prevailing temperament or mood, which can cover the whole range of emotions which can be used to further a crime urge, or not. The six basic emotions are: Anger. Disgust. Fear. Happiness. Sadness. Surprise.

Unfortunately, allowing yourself to get “carried away” by any misplaced or/and excessive emotion can end in disaster, after which, claiming that “I lost my temper!” won’t even serve as a limp excuse.

Tips:

Remember, although it may feel very different at the time, you control your temper and choices, no matter how you’re feeling.  It is always you who chooses to use your temper, choices and actions, for whatever purpose, and it’s never them using you.

There can be some dodgy reasons for feeling the way you do (see Loosening the unfelt shackle page). So, change your mind (and future) by changing any crime promoting temper tantrums to a law abiding one.

Learn how to name your emotions, so you can better identify them and handle if their influence is appropriate to your current situation, and future.

Give yourself more choice at changing your temper through the Emotional Ecology page.

Use one of your body parts as an emergency escape pod (see Using Your Body Parts for Time Travel page).
